My Blogs Would Be Right To Have Abandonment Issues…

Oh, hello, Spiting Rick Reilly. Long time no see. Don’t worry, I won’t leave you again. You can believe me.

Going to give this another shot in earnest. I’ve already committed to writing an upcoming entry for the 800 Games Project over at the Mid Majority, so that’s guaranteed to be posted here as well. I’ve been reading some of the other entries over there and have come away with the sinking feeling that I’m going to be outclassed. (This wasn’t the term I was going to use, but I couldn’t think of the word I wanted to. I’ll chalk this up to rust and maybe a bit of an inflated sense of self-worth in scenarios that don’t involve my writing.) But at the very least, it should be at the level of my satirical first post here (panned by many!) and significantly more sincere.

In the interim, I’m really going to make an effort to post my UFC ranking system that I suggested I’d be providing here. I may also do something of a study regarding the system I’ve used to pick the last two World Series champions, matchups, and the number of games each series would go at the start of the playoffs. I get the feeling that I’ve gotten exceedingly lucky, but hey, why not turn it into a blog post?

There are some other concepts that I may toy around with in the coming weeks as well — I’ve got a nameless stat I use to track college hoops because I’ve got too much time on my hands — but that’s what’s on tap for Spiting Rick Reilly now that I’ve pried the “CONDEMNED” sign from the metaphorical boarded-up headquarters front door.
